1 Get a facial a few weeks before your special day. It is like seeing a dental hygienist for your teeth it works wonders. Your skin will have a healthy glow.

2 Get you teeth professionally cleaned for kissable breath.

3 Get a fresh haircut/trim approximately one to two weeks before the wedding.

4 If you are not styling your own hair. See a stylist for the wedding newspaper photo a few months before the wedding. Experiment, play and see what works for you.

5 See a makeup artist for a trial run if you are not doing your own makeup. Keep it real. You don’t want to look like someone else. You want to look like yourself only better!

6 Go to a pro and get a massage the night before or a few days before the wedding. It will relax you both and make you feel good too.

7 Get a paraffin hand treatment for soft, handsome and pretty hands. The ring will glide on like silk and feel amazing.

8 Get a manicure afterwards for good-looking hands. When choosing a nail lacquer remember, a French manicure is somewhat outdated. Brides should consider a veil of silver, soft pink, nude or gold. If it chips, it will not show and is quick to repair unlike a French manicure, which show imperfections easily.

9 Consider "gifts of the spa or salon" for your bridal party. It is a great way to say thank you for being in my wedding and more one they won’t forget!

10 Smile, relax and try before you go down the aisle with style to take some deep breaths, keep hydrated with water and take in some alone time away from everyone else — to enjoy the moments of the special day.

Good to Have:

Create a touch up kit for the bride and groom in case of emergency and more. Have the maid of honor or the best man in charge of it. Include lip conditioner, hand cream, band-aides, breath freshener, sewing kit, energy bar and water to stay hydrated.

Did you know?

In the royal palaces of ancient Java, young Indonesian brides-to-be participate in the Lular ritual. Attendants massaged coconut oil and tropical flowers into the young woman’s’ skin; exfoliated with rice, tumeric, sandalwood and jasmine. Then covered it with plain yogurt before settling her to soak in a bath scented with petals of jasmine, rose and frangipani flowers.

Maybe they were on to something wonderful. The bride’s skin must have felt amazing.
